For me, there is a simple magic in quilting. It is being able to see something in my mind's eye and let the thread take me where it wants to go. It's not always perfect. I may encounter frustration with it along the way. It's the start of a journey with all the bends and curves only to come to a completion. Much like life, quilting is a journey. Not only is it great for my mental health, but it satiates a deeper need within. A need to create.
As my name implies, I am awkward. I laugh at inappropriate times, can be snarky and inpatient, am an introvert, and my circle of friends is very small. Quilting allows me to feed the need to explore, live in color, be unrestrained, and express what is inside that I find so difficult to unleash.
Quilting starts with a stitch which progresses into another and another until there are no stitches left to complete your opera. Join me in the journey.
